This Privacy Policy describes how LOCO ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. This policy applies to the LOCO website, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, "Services").
Data Controller: LOCO (Operating in British Columbia, Canada).
Consent: By using LOCO, you provide explicit consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. In compliance with the B.C. Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we ensure that your data is handled with transparency and care.
Changes: We may update this policy. Substantial changes will be notified via our platform. Continued use after updates constitutes consent.
LOCO is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
2. WHAT WE COLLECT
We collect information to provide a seamless local marketplace experience:
Automatic Information: IP address, device ID, device type, general geo-location (via IP), and standard web log data (cookies, beacons).
Information You Provide:
- Account details (Name, email, phone number, profile photo).
- Content of your postings (Ads, messages, images).
- Location data (with your consent) to help find local deals.
Third-Party Sources: Information from social media logins (Google, Apple, etc.) as permitted by your settings.
We collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide and improve our Services.
Precise location data will only be collected and used with your explicit consent, and you may disable this at any time through your device or account settings.
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites. LOCO is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To provide access to Services and Customer Support.
- To prevent fraud, detect illegal activities, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Personalization: To tailor content and (with consent) provide relevant local marketing.
- Communication: To contact you regarding account updates or promotional offers (subject to Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation - CASL).

We do not store your full credit card details. Payment information is processed by our third-party payment provider in accordance with their privacy practices.

Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside of British Columbia or Canada (e.g., in the U.S. or EU). While in other jurisdictions, your data may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access requests by local authorities.
6. YOUR RIGHTS (ACCESS & CONTROL)
In accordance with BC's PIPA, you have the following rights:
- Access & Rectification: You can view and update your profile through your LOCO account settings at any time.
- Deletion: You may request account deletion through the App settings or by contacting us. We will delete data unless we are legally required or permitted to retain it (e.g., for ongoing fraud investigations).
- Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent for marketing or location tracking at any time via device settings or account preferences.
If you delete your account, content you have publicly posted (such as ads or comments) may remain on the platform in anonymized or de-identified form.
7. COOKIES & TRACKING
We use cookies to identify you and measure promotional effectiveness. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though some LOCO features may be limited as a result.
8. PROTECTION & RETENTION
Security: We use administrative and technical measures (encryption, firewalls) to protect your data.
Retention: We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes identified or as required by law. Once no longer needed, it is securely destroyed or anonymized. We generally retain account information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
9. SPAM & ABUSE
LOCO has zero tolerance for spam. You may not use other users' contact information for commercial purposes without their express consent. We may scan internal messages to detect viruses, phishing, or malicious activity. We may use automated systems to scan messages for spam, malware, or illegal activity. We do not monitor messages for content unrelated to safety and platform integrity.
